One Monthly Goal "" December 2016

Holy cow, it's December! How did that happen?! As the year winds down, I'm starting to see some of my quilting goals take shape. In 2016, I realized that my unwritten goal was to re-organize my craft space and think through what really works best for me. I function better as a quilter and in life when my things are organized.

Heading into to 2017, I sense that I am going to try to be more social within the quilting community. I've started participating in causes like Quilts for Pulse and Quilts for Peace in addition to making charity quilts for my own local church group. In 2017, I want to start doing some other fun things, like jumping into the Quiltville Mystery Quiltalong, joining the Bee Hive at Blossom Heart Quilts, and participating in Elm Street Quilt's One Monthly Goal.

Yesterday, I made a list of all the things I hope to work on this month:

Quilts:
  • Finish the Minion quilt (binding and label)
  • Make the Scattered quilt
  • Stella's quilt
  • Auburn quilt
  • Mystery Quilt
  • Christmas charity quilt
Sewing:
  • Teacher gifts
  • Replenish fidget supply
  • Make magnetic fidget
  • Birthday shirt for D
  • Birthday shirt order
Misc.
  • PJs
  • Open Etsy Shop?
  • Put craft table on casters?
Considering that December is crazy with Sinterklaas, our son's birthday, Christmas, winter break (more family time, less sewing time) and end of the year fun, my list seems a little ambitious.

My minion quilt is nearly done. I'll likely finish today, so that seems like a cop out monthly goal.

Instead, my December One Monthly Goal will be to start and finish the quilt that will be sent with the Minion quilt. I mocked up my version of Scattered by Cluck Cluck Sew on Electric Quilt 7 (Merry early Christmas to me!).

The only progress I've made so far is to pull fabric from my stash for the top and buy a patterned print for the back.

Now it's time to get started!

    1. Thanks! It's going to a 13 year old girl whose house burned down on Election night. I wanted something bright and happy.
