One Monthly Goal :: January 2018

Happy New Year! I'm excited to see what the new year brings. It will be a big year for our family as our son just turned 10 and in a few short months, he will graduate from 4th grade and move on from the amazing school he has attended since pre-school. So many of his friends and mine have come from being part of that community so we are both feeling some dread over the change.

In my quilty time, I have made a list of goals for 2019. I like writing goals, but have long since given myself grace to not finish them all. I like having a plan, but life is more fun when I follow the detours that I can't anticipate.

One thing I love about Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal challenge is that it helps me focus on one month, one project at a time. That is goal I can (usually) meet). 2019 begins my third full year of participating in the challenge and I've only missed completing a few.

For January 2019, I am making it easy on myself. I would like to finish my niece's mermaid quilt. I already have the top done, so it only needs to be quilted, bound, and labeled.

The pattern is my take on Be A Mermaid by CoopCrafts.
